First breaking ground in 2015 the Veterans Memorial Museum first opened its doors in October 2018 and is a spectacular achievement of architectural design and implementation.

The remarkable museum is a near 3-acre property that boasts some of the best landscaping architecture in the entire country, providing the perfect place for honoring the service of veterans throughout all branches of military. Outside the museum there is a beautiful tree-lined pedestrian pathway that takes you around the museums spectacular landscape. This includes an elm tree grove that is a designated space for rest and reflection. A main focal point of the museum is the spiral rampway leads up to the rooftop sanctuary which allows for uninhibited views of the surrounding Scioto River. The rooftop sanctuary is yet another green space this building offers up for rest and reflection for all veterans and guests of the museum.

Even before opening, the Museum had received national attention from Architectural Digest as one of the most anticipated buildings of 2018. The museum possess over 250+ trees and plants throughout the site, establishing it as one of Columbus’ greenestand most aesthetically pleasing locations.
