Within the West Plaza of Bridge Park in Dublin, OH, EMI was brought in to transform a high-traffic urban plaza into a vibrant and durable outdoor environment—on a fast-tracked timeline. Working alongside multiple trades and under tight logistical constraints, EMI installed over 300 trees and shrubs, hundreds of perennials, and expansive lawn areas, all while navigating an active construction site. This project showcases EMI’s ability to deliver complex landscape installations with precision and efficiency, creating spaces that serve both function and beauty in the heart of the city.

Key Project Highlights

Phased Construction: Executed in multiple phases between 2018 and 2021, requiring precise integration of materials and finishes across construction timelines.

High-End Materials: Installation included over 9,600 sq ft of Bellcrest 530 hand-laid pavers, 100+ tons of structural soil, and 30+ yards of planting mix.

Custom Granite Work: Four custom-cut Georgia Gray granite planters—two large and two uniquely shaped—constructed from 15 pieces each, weighing over 39,000 lbs per unit.

Integrated Seating: Large planters include stainless steel-framed benches made of Ipe Brazilian hardwood.

Pedestrian Safety: Granite planters and bollards double as vehicular deterrents to secure pedestrian-only areas.

Handrails and Cornices: 200+ linear feet of Ipe railing installed to match bridge aesthetic; 53 custom-cut limestone cornices, including 23 surrounding stairs and curves, were mounted under difficult crane access.

ADA Compliance: Careful grading and paver installation ensured the plaza remains fully accessible.

Visual Continuity: Paver patterns echo Historic Dublin sidewalks while uniting distinct construction phases for a seamless finish.
