Spanning over an acre of vibrant, meticulously designed display beds, this living laboratory brings together plant breeders, growers, and landscape professionals to evaluate and celebrate top-performing plant varieties under real-world conditions.
The garden is designed not only to inspire but also to provide valuable insights into how plants perform in the Midwest. By combining rigorous plant trials with creative landscape design, the Green Legacy Trial Garden serves as a resource for garden centers, growers, and landscape professionals seeking proven, high-performing plant material.

Custom-designed beds by each participating breeder, creating a unique collection of genetics and design concepts

Each participating sponsor—representing some of the most respected names in horticulture—was given the opportunity to design their own display bed. The result is an extraordinary showcase of creativity, color, and innovation, setting a new standard for trial gardens in the region.
