Each year, the Memorial Tournament transforms Muirfield Village Golf Club into one of the premier destinations in professional golf. While the course itself is the centerpiece, creating a world-class experience for players, spectators, sponsors, volunteers, and tournament staff requires extensive preparation beyond the fairways and greens.
In advance of the 2026 Memorial Tournament, held June 4–7 in Dublin, Ohio, Environmental Management, Inc. (EMI) partnered with Muirfield Village Golf Club to enhance the tournament grounds through large-scale landscape installations, seasonal color displays, and event beautification efforts.
With nearly 200,000 attendees expected throughout tournament week and millions more watching worldwide, every detail needed to be ready for opening day while remaining attractive and functional throughout the event.

Preparing Muirfield Village Golf Club for the Memorial Tournament
The Challenge
Preparing a championship golf course for a PGA TOUR event presents a unique set of challenges. The property effectively becomes a temporary city, accommodating tens of thousands of visitors along with hundreds of vendors, volunteers, sponsors, broadcasters, and event personnel.
Unlike a traditional landscape installation project, the work extends beyond the golf course itself. Temporary structures, hospitality areas, concession spaces, signage locations, seating areas, and sponsor activations all require thoughtful landscape enhancements that complement the venue while helping create an exceptional guest experience.
This year's preparation schedule was further complicated by cooler spring temperatures, which delayed seasonal flower installations until May 13. With a compressed planting window and tournament deadlines quickly approaching, crews worked efficiently to ensure every area was completed on time.
Additionally, 2026 marked an expanded role for EMI, with our team taking on more responsibility for beautifying temporary event spaces and helping transform functional infrastructure into welcoming, visually appealing environments for guests.
